Note: Replacing HDMI requires experience and the right equipment!

● Issue Description

  1. Mechanical damage
  2. Video/Audio signal depends on cable movement
  3. No Video/Audio output

● Diagnostics

  1. Check for visible mechanical damage.
  2. Verify the console light – solid white = good.
  3. Connect a gamepad to confirm console response.
  4. Perform a diode test as shown below. Values may vary slightly, but the key is the location of the green, red, and white pins.

● Repair Steps

  1. The PS5 motherboard is robust. Use hot air at 420°C, airflow 2–3, with preheating at 160°C.
  2. Apply flux and fresh solder.
  3. Heat the area – using a soldering iron can help.
  4. Be careful with the small components located behind the HDMI port – they can be easily displaced or damaged.
  5. Clean the pads thoroughly.
  6. Install the new HDMI port.

● Testing

  1. Perform a diode test again.
  2. Check video and audio output with a display.
